2022 U11 Coach James Shannon

Jimmy started playing football for Box Hill at age 9 in 1980. He finally retired 30 odd years later after 200+ games with Tooronga Malvern Football Club (now East Malvern). A brief return to Super Rules for Parkdale ended when he commenced coaching the St Bedes Mentone Under 8s in 2019.

Now in his third year as a junior coach, Jimmy’s focus is first and foremost on the development of a socially and culturally healthy group of players and ensuring EVERY player has the opportunity to and are expected to make a meaningful contribution to team success.

He also likes to keep the parents entertained with his “Churchillian” players’ addresses.
