Hi All,

Thanks for your patience and apologies for the delay in updating you for our Auskick session tomorrow. I have literally just received the return to play rules for this week which was worth the wait as it has actually made the session tomorrow much easier!!

We need to run two split sessions tomorrow which are set out as below:

8.15am – 9.15am – Kinder/Prep
9.30am – 10.30am – Girls Group, Grade 1 & Grade 2+

Please note the strict guidelines set in place by the AFL below:

  • Sessions are to be run on a ‘get in, play, get out’ basis which has been consistent for all community sports emerging from our various lockdowns over the past 12 months. This means that we need to arrive about 5 minutes before the start of our allocated session and leave immediately afterwards. The only exception to this is where there are siblings that will participate across both sessions, which will require the need to remain at the ground.
  • One parent/guardian per registered child is permitted to attend Auskick sessions. Social distancing must be adhered to for all spectators.
  • No parents or spectators are allowed on the playing surface who are not directly supervising any activities
  • Everyone must QR code into the venue
  • We have two COVID Safe Officers who have kindly volunteered for each session – Kylie Sherwell & Leigh Gibson – thank you both for enabling our sessions to go ahead this week. Kylie and Leigh are there to essentially make sure that we are all following the above. Could I please urge that you make thier lives easier by taking note and adhering to what we need to. It is up to all of us to make sure that our Auskick Centre is complying with the rules. Again, the AFL have been very strict on compliance and will be doing spot checks of grounds over the weekend

I appreciate that some of these times may not suit everyone and that some of these rules are an inconvenience, however, with 166 registered kids we are doing the best with what we can for when the ground is available – the under 8’s have already kindly offered to move their training session to make the ground available longer for us this week. It is terrific that we can get the kids back out onto the field tomorrow and I sincerely hope that this is the most challenging week of Auskick this year and the rules continue to subside.

I will publish a specific note on this next week, however, this week was originally scheduled to be the last week of Auskick before the school holidays, however, with our kids missing so many weeks already this year, I would like to run a session next Saturday as well (provided that we have enough parent support in place).

See you all tomorrow!

Cheers
Chris Bristow
