SBMT AFC today announced its youth teamΒ coaching appointments for season 2022.
According to the clubβs Director of Football, Joe Galati, the appointments are reflective of the clubβs key objective to attract volunteer coaches with a growth mindset and commitment to ongoing learning.
βOur coaches are our lead educators and the custodians of youth talent. We hold the firm belief at SBMT that good coaches never stop learning and we need to create a developmentΒ focusedΒ environment thatΒ best supportsΒ thisβΒ said Galati.
The new appointments further enhance, what is already a highly respected AFL coaching panel, comprising three AFL Level 2 accredited coaches and numerous AFL development academy coaches.
TheΒ keyΒ additionsΒ of Andrew Saultry (former club VAFA under 19sΒ midfieldΒ coach and current SFNL Division 1 assistant coach), Chelsea Bowen (Former Mentone Grammar AFL Coach),Β Brayden OβToole (SBMTΒ VAFA Seniors player) &Β Russell GouldΒ (acclaimedΒ basketball coach)Β will significantly bolster the clubβs coaching ranks.
βI am confident that Andrew, Chelsea, Brayden & Russell will complement our
re-appointedΒ seniorΒ coaches Lou Colella, Tighe Chandler, Natalie Corrigan,
Stuart Curran, Tony Corcoran and Jason Swainβ, said Galati.
βTo also have the depth and quality of someΒ highly talented lineΒ coaches like
Paul McCormack,Β Aldo Mangoni, Shaun Napier,Β Chloe SaultryΒ & Georgia WilsonΒ supporting our senior coachesΒ is just amazingβ, said Galati.
βWe are so fortunate at SBMT, that we have a highly connected development pathway from juniors, youth to seniorβs football and our programme is builtΒ onΒ ourΒ coaches allΒ working together in sync to uphold the pillars of our curriculum and ensure a tailored transitionβ, said Galati.
With a laser like focus on developing its people (coaches and players alike), the future looks bright for this proudΒ and storiedΒ communityΒ footballΒ club.
