The club is saddened to hear of the passing of for The club is saddened to hear of the passing of former player Michael Hurst while skiing in Japan this week. Michael started in Auskick, then from 2005–2015 played 133 games for the Tigers from Under 9’s to U17’s, winning multiple awards along the way including a Best & Fairest in 2011 and finishing runner up in 2009 and 2012. He was also a college captain of St Bede’s College in 2016. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and our community at this time. RIP, Michael Hurst. ❤️💙💛
The club shares the sad news of Mick Zakic's passi The club shares the sad news of Mick Zakic's passing, and extends its deepest sympathies to the Zakic family. Mick was a former player, former Club Junior President, and current Under 19 parent who passed away on Sunday. Mick was an inspiration to all who knew him through each stage of his time at the footy club. He stepped up as the Club’s Junior President between 2017 and 2020 during a period of increasing participation and built a strong committee to ensure our players received high-quality coaching and support. Mick had an aura of brightness that shone every time he walked into the club and the tributes from club members that had flowed reflected his welcoming smile: • Everyone loved him. • Great fella made everyone welcome. • Absolute gentleman. • Shattered, an absolute ripping bloke • I was lucky enough to play footy with him and enjoy his company later in life together watching our daughters play netball. • A great man who brought nothing but happiness into the room when he walked in. • Such a vibrant and gentle character. • Such a joy to be around him. • Always had time for everyone. • Outstanding administrator, volunteered to make a difference. • Such a lovely man, gave great service to the club. Details on the celebration of Mick’s life will be advised to members and our wide football community once they are available. RIP Mick, you will be sorely missed.
