A senior captain at just 23 years of age is an indication of how much respect Lep has from the playing group and coaches at SBMT. Since joining the senior group he has barely put a foot wrong, setting new standards both on and off the field. We are hugely excited to announce Matthew Lehpamer as our Senior Men’s Captain for 2026.
A massive thank you to outgoing captain Lachie Palfrey from the entire club, and we are thrilled that you’re staying on in the leadership group. Palf took over the club captaincy in a time of change, and is a large reason why the club is where it is again today. He did whatever the club asked and needed of him in his 2 years as captain, and will continue to provide amazing levels of support and guidance to Leppa both on and off the field.
Zac Calvez has been a leader within our group for a long time. He leads with not only his words but his actions, consistently demonstrating the standards we want from all players at the footy club. We love his honesty, as well as his willingness for both himself and the team to get better every day!
