Unfortunately for us, Dan Garside has announced his retirement and has played his last game for the St Bedes/Mentone Tigers.
After graduating from our juniors, Dan made his senior SBMT debut in 2010, playing 167 senior games at SBMT, whilst having stints at Euroa as well.
Whilst plenty of accolades have come Dan’s way, representing the Big V in under 19s and seniors, and playing lots of footy for Sandringham Dragons as a junior, he says playing so much footy with his brother Tom means the most to him.
The Garside family have been and will continue to be such massive supporters of our footy club. We thank the whole Garside family, especially parents Mal and Wendy, for what they’ve contributed to SBMT. The club will continue to support Dan in his next phase, and we’re glad he will get to spend a lot more time with his wife Em and his two boys Harley and Mason.
People walk taller when they walk onto the field with Dan Garside. He’s going to be missed by us all!
