St Bedes Mentone Tigers thrashed bottom of the ladder Melbourne High School by 114 points at the Yarra river oval on Saturday. Led by in form skipper Luke Wintle and the Scafidi brothers the visitors were in control early and by half time had built a handy 32 point lead. In the second half winger Paul Wintle ran amok kicking 6 goals and with Sam Anstey (40 possessions) and forward Ben Phibbs kicking 8 goals the tigers kicked another huge score against the hapless Unicorns. Next Saturday the tigers tackle ladder leader Old Essendon in what promises to the game of the home and away season. With top spot up for grabs a big crowd is expected at Brindisi St as both sides look to secure the psychological advantage approaching the finals.
