St Bedes Mentone smashed local rival Beaumaris by 160 points in a one sided B Section affair at Banksia St on Saturday.

The Tigers had 16 different goal kickers. Pocket dynamo Luke Terrell kicked 6 along with half forward Sam Hecker 5 leading the way.

St Bedes dominated Beaumaris all over the ground with brilliant running and handball being topped off with brilliant goal kicking.

Coach Luke Beveridge has the tigers playing a hard running handballing game which on the big Beaumaris ground was too much for the Sharks to handle.

Half backs Nick Corda, Anthony Scafidi and David Kinsella led the way cutting off the sharks attacks with strong marking and spoiling. The run and kicking to space by these three helped set up a number of the Tiger goals.

Skipper Luke Wintle dominated in the ruck and marked everything that came his way. The Tiger misquito made up of Brendan Neville, Chris Richards, Robbbie Swayn and Andrew Scafidi fleet won almost every stoppage. Beaumaris simply were out classed. Half forward Ben Phibbs also returned to form with a best on ground game.

Next week the Tigers play Marcellin at home in the final match of the home and away.
