St Bedes / Mentone Tigers had a great win by 22 points against “A’ grade premiership aspirants University Blues in perfect autumn conditions at the University Oval
The Tigers with a number of changes from the first round due to injury attacked Blues from the outset to a solitary point at the first change.
The Tiges dominated the quarter and should have been further ahead but for some innacuracy in front of goal
Blues consolidated in the second quarter and got to within 8 points of the Tigers early in the third quarter before a withering burst from the newcomers saw them add 8 majors for the quarter and break the game open
The Tigers continued their ascendency, kicking 5 goals to one in the first half of the last quarter to go to a 50 point lead before Uni kicked the last 4 goals of the game
The U19s went down by 9 points to last year’s Premier division premiers De La Salle at home
