Well, 2 weeks into the season (3 weeks for 17’s &16’s) its great to see all teams have got a win on the board. Terrific to see both the Tiger cubs U9 Blue & Red both undefeated as well as the U10’s, U12’s & U14’s.A great amount of work has gone into getting season 2008 off the ground from registration day in February (or was it March I can’t seem to remember when it all started) to where we are right now. Thanks to all who helped behind the scenes with a big thanks to Chris Dee & Lyn Lyddiard for all their efforts in getting all the paper and administrative work done. Please give them your thanks when you see them around the club. Also a big thanks to all the coaches, team managers and support staff who are all putting a great deal of time to make this a terrific football club for all the kids to play footy. To see the spirit and courage showed from the U15’s in last weeks match with no players on the bench in the 2nd half underlines the effort the boys are putting in for their coaches & team mates. Great to see everyone getting down to the club on Sunday nights for match reports. It’s a good time for everyone to relax and enjoy a great social night as the kids are rewarded for their efforts on match day. Thanks to the U11’s for a fantastic meal last week (I saw U14’s coach Steve D’Andrea go back for 3 chicken snitzel rolls) and we look foward to this Sunday nights meal (the famous Jasper’s pizza) served by the U9 Blue team. Still looking for at least 2 volunteers from each team just to put their hand up to give the Junior Committee a bit help (bar duties, just a general hand etc.).Finally good luck to all teams this weekend, hope you have a win but remember, just have fun. Thats what its all about.
