The challenge of the step up to A Section for Tigers 19 year old utility player, Jack Hellier has been grasped with both hands. Last Saturday in the sensational clash between the Tigers and Old Brighton Jack proved to be the difference between the two sides. His leadership, in only his second season of senior football, saw Jack ignite the tigers fight back from 28 points down in the third quarter to a narrow one point victory. A low to the ground, hard tackling player it is Jack’s evasive skills and ball usage that have given him a cult following amongst the supporters at Brindisi Street. Last season he played a key role in the Tigers B Section premiership win as well as gaining selection, and being amongst the best, in the U19 VAFA State teams tight contest with the QFL U21 side. Still an U19 age group player Jack is again eligible to represent the VAFA in this years Queens Birthday match to be held in Brisbane.
