This Saturday 1 August will mark the 300th appearance of Paul for the mighty St Bedes / Mentone Tigers and no better match to perform in than 2nd v 3rd at Brindisi Street.
Paul commenced in 1998, playing two seasons in the Under 19’s, winning the Under 19 Best and Fairest in 1999.
In 2000 Paul’s efforts saw him awarded Best First Year Player and followed up in 2001 winning the Most Courageous E. J. Turner Memorial Award, an award which he also won in the 2008 Premier A Grade Premiership win over Collegians and again in 2009.
In 2003 Paul was Runner Up Best and Fairest and went one better in 2004 winning the William Groves Club Champion Memorial Trophy and to top that off, also scored the Most Consistent Award, named and dedicated to Michael Hecker.
2006 was another great year for Paul, part of our magnificent Premiership winning team against AJAX and being presented with the Best Team Player award, named in honour of our 1928 premiership player Doug Patterson.
In 2010 Paul won our Leading Goal Kicker award and in 2012 was honoured to be named VAFA State Captain and awarded Life Membership of the club.
And to top all that off, he’s a great guy.
Well done Paul, what an absolute honour it has been for us to watch you play. Your dedication to the Tigers has been sensational.
Let’s celebrate with Paul against Old Melburnians and lock in 2nd spot on the ladder.
