Kingston Mayor, Steve Staikos, said the Youth Consultative Committee is an important voice for Kingston’s young people and is a mechanism through which communication occurs between young people and Council in a continuous, formalised and consistent way.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for Kingston’s younger generation to be involved in the decisions that affect their local community and to broaden their knowledge of youth issues.

“So if you, or someone you know, is aged between 12 and 25 years, lives in the City of Kingston, is free to meet one afternoon each month, is interested in youth issues and the local community and, most importantly, would like to serve on the Youth Consultative Committee, I encourage you to let us know,” he said.

Nominations close on Friday 26 February, 2010 and short listed nominees will be required to attend a brief interview.
