An exciting offer is available enabling Students Playing for St Bedes/Mentone Tigers Be Paid to Train and Gain Qualifications! St Bedes/Mentone Tigers AFC in conjunction with our sponsors Training Sense are offering the opportunity for students in years 10,11 & 12 who will be registered players for 2012 to gain a Certificate III in Sport & Recreation. The Certificate will receive block credit recognition towards VCE. All participants will be paid for 8 hours a week meaningful work around the football club. Part of the 8 hours will be training – the balance can be ground maintenance, game day duties with the senior teams, assisting other coaches or canteen and administration roles.
The theory side of the Certificate will be conducted in 3 day blocks during the 2012 school holidays. The courses will be run by leading trainers and sports stars. There will also be an hour a fortnight face time at the school that fits in with the students’ timetables. This will be negotiated with the school. Units covered include:
• Communication Skills
• OHS & Sport Law
• Events & Facilities
• Australian Football
• Coaching Principles
• Sports First Aid.
