We’re not sure if everyone is aware of how vulnerable sporting clubs are right now.  Despite the season being abandoned clubs still incur many expenses such as League fees, utility expenses, insurances, as well as purchased merchandise and equipment that were to be used this season. In our case St Bedes / Mentone Tigers was further exposed by the delivery of the new building and our obligation to contribute a substantial amount of money, as our share of the development.  Without the support of our major sponsor ‘The Bendigo Bank’ the club frankly may not have been able to survive.  The message to our members is that we will be forever indebted to the staff of the Bendigo Bank Parkdale for their unbelievable support in meeting this obligation on our behalf. They are indeed a community focused bank.  Their website asks, “Can we help you?”  In the club’s case they have helped us in a big, big way.  If you have the opportunity to move you accounts to the Bendigo Bank please do so.  It’s a way of rewarding them for their ongoing community support.
