Records were shattered on the weekend with the Clubbies winning their fourth game in a row to consolidate top spot on the ladder. In the previous two years of Club 18 football, this team has only managed 4 wins total! Beaumaris turned up to play but were short on numbers and didn’t score in the first or last quarters. The Tigers had superior fitness and scoreboard pressure and ended up 84 point victors when the final siren sounded. Fire “The Wizard” McColl was once again BOG with 5 goals and a hairless display of brilliance. Andrew “Rubber man” Walstab took some strong grabs and was fantastic off half back, while Quentin “Suckers” Suckling was as graceful as an antelope with his pacey rebounds off the backline. Shane “Thorny” Rose was once again dominant with 4 goals, Jordan “Kev Jr” Lynch kicked 3, and James “Anti-matters” Mattingley chipped in with 3 also. Anton “Blink-and-you’ll-miss-him” VandenBlink rucked valiantly all day. The Tigers are preparing themselves for a dominant year and are confident at the top of the ladder. After two years of big losses and short numbers, it is fantastic to be a strong force in the Clubbies competition. Bring on Ormond!
