Project Manager Steve Zagami has overseen the first stage of the new club kitchen. Senior club players Jan “Spinner” De Groot and Damien Waters erected the external frame work recently to enable the brick work to be completed. Steve has his sights set on having the new facility a lock up stage before Christmas. The demolition to part of the existing building will be completed in January followed by the internal fit out. Once completed this facility will allow our co tenants the “Central Bayside Community Services” the oportunity to prepare meals for their clients on a daily basis. This dedicated team have operated at our club for almost 10 years in difficult circumstances. Through the generosity of the Bendigo Bank and CBCS we have secured the $30,000 required to complete this project. Our next goal is to refurbish the visitors change room and in doing so install new men’s and disabled toilets to service the social rooms. If anyone would like to contribute towards this project either financially or through provision of materials please contact Steve or and a member of the committee. The committee and members would like to thank the following people who have contributed materials and or labour towards the construction of the kitchen to this stage of works. Mark Tyquin, Steve Zagami, Anthony Pickles, Gerald Stutterd, Greg L’Huillier, Steve Hyland, Blair Hutchinson, Jan De Groot and Damien Waters.
