Congratulations to Club Captain Luke Wintle who played his 200th VAFA game against Old Xavarians. Luke joined the club in 1997 as a 17 year old in the U19 team and played two full seasons of U19 football before stepping into the ones. In 1999 he was named the best first year player for the seniors and has gone onto play state football for the VAFA. He has also won the Senior Best & Fairest, the prestigious Michael Hecker Award as the Most Consistent Player in 2001 and the Doug Paterson Best Team Player Award in 2004. Luke is now in his 8th season as captain of the club which must be a record in itself. He of course led the seniors in the last two seasonโ€™s premiership wins and was named BOG in the 2007 B Section premiership win.
A teacher at St Bedes Luke is a great role model to lead the club. An outstanding player and captain. Congratulations to Luke on another fantastic milestone.
