St Bedes / Mentone Tigers blasted Parkdale out of the finals series with an empathic 81 point Preliminary Final victory.
The Tigers win gains them promotion to B Section and books them a grand final berth against Ajax.
Parkdale captain Corey Stephens won the toss and elected to kick with a four goal breeze. The Tigers though were set to avenge last weekโs loss to Ajax and absolutely dominated the first quarter kicking 4.5 to a solitary point against the wind.
Parkdale were unable to penetrate the Tigers half back line with Luke Wintle, Paul Groves and David Kinsella dominating.
The second quarter was a far tighter affair as Parkdale tried to gain some momentum. Sam Hecker kicked two goals for them before the Tigers though unleased another seven goal burst to close the game out by half time.
Tigerโs ruckman Paul Brennan continued his good form with a dominant display around the ground.
Michael Wintle, Fiery Tim McColl and Matt Hilton dominated around the packs. Hilton finished with three goals.
Brett Collins kicked four goals off his wing to also be amongst the best.
The Tigers brought three young players into the side following last weekโs loss to Ajax. All three responded to the challenge with Jamie Maddocks and Jess Windebank both kicking two goals whilst Jordan Lynch, who also kicked a goal, played well in the ruck and at centre half back.
The marking of the St Bedes forwards was sensational with Both Windebank and Luke Terrell taking spectacular marks.
The Tiger defence led by Steve Zakic at full back and Luke Wintle at CHB completely dominated their Parkdale opponents.
The Tigers lost key forward Nick Corda mid way thru the second term however they expect both Corda and gun on baller James Tyquin to be available for next weeks Grand Final.
The Tiger players and supporters were subdued after the final siren despite the win gaining them promotion back to B Section. The Clubs eyes firmly targeting a premiership flag as their priority.
