Round Three
SBMT vs Beaumaris
It was a big ask for the Tigers coming up, with a short list including three first gamers, against the undefeated Beaumaris. Beaumaris opened up strongly and took a big lead into the halftime break. It would have been more if it weren’t for the midfield group of Laura Summers, Kate Dempsey and later Mikala Sykes winning over 80% of the clearances. They made it difficult for Beaumaris to build any momentum. The second half saw a revamped backline start to close down opportunities for the opposition. First gamers Laura “Mitch†Mitchelmore and Issy Tobin worked tirelessly to hold up the tall Beaumaris forwards, while Elsie Martin and Maddy Buck cleaned up across the last line of defence.

VAFA Grading
Quality football, not quantity sees the St.Bedes Women’s team being graded into VAFA Development Division 2. The girls worked hard to achieve this despite battling a number of setbacks and deserve the honour of being in this division. It will be a great challenge for the girls with other teams in the division being; Collegians, Hampton Rovers, Oakleigh, Old Camberwell, Old Carey, UHS-VU, Yarra Old Grammarians.
