Members were saddened to hear of the passing yesterday of John ‘Tiny’ Crozier. John was inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame in 2004 after an 150 game career with Mentone. John was an outstanding clubman who coached the Fourths (U16’s) for seven consecutive years from 1964 to 1971, was senior assistant coach in 1972, and on the club committee from 1971 to 1973. ‘Tiny’ is remembered for the early development work he put into a number of the players who made long-serving senior contributions to the club. Many of the juniors he coached went on to play in the 1967, 1968 and 1976 senior premiership wins. Tiny was awarded Life Membership in 1965.
