SBMT AFC today announced its youth teamย coaching appointments for season 2022.

According to the clubโ€™s Director of Football, Joe Galati, the appointments are reflective of the clubโ€™s key objective to attract volunteer coaches with a growth mindset and commitment to ongoing learning.

โ€œOur coaches are our lead educators and the custodians of youth talent. We hold the firm belief at SBMT that good coaches never stop learning and we need to create a developmentย focusedย environment thatย best supportsย thisโ€ย said Galati.

The new appointments further enhance, what is already a highly respected AFL coaching panel, comprising three AFL Level 2 accredited coaches and numerous AFL development academy coaches.

Theย keyย additionsย of Andrew Saultry (former club VAFA under 19sย midfieldย coach and current SFNL Division 1 assistant coach), Chelsea Bowen (Former Mentone Grammar AFL Coach),ย Brayden Oโ€™Toole (SBMTย VAFA Seniors player) &ย Russell Gouldย (acclaimedย basketball coach)ย will significantly bolster the clubโ€™s coaching ranks.

โ€œI am confident that Andrew, Chelsea, Brayden & Russell will complement our
re-appointedย seniorย coaches Lou Colella, Tighe Chandler, Natalie Corrigan,
Stuart Curran, Tony Corcoran and Jason Swainโ€, said Galati.

โ€œTo also have the depth and quality of someย highly talented lineย coaches like
Paul McCormack,ย Aldo Mangoni, Shaun Napier,ย Chloe Saultryย & Georgia Wilsonย supporting our senior coachesย is just amazingโ€, said Galati.

โ€œWe are so fortunate at SBMT, that we have a highly connected development pathway from juniors, youth to seniorโ€™s football and our programme is builtย onย ourย coaches allย working together in sync to uphold the pillars of our curriculum and ensure a tailored transitionโ€, said Galati.

With a laser like focus on developing its people (coaches and players alike), the future looks bright for this proudย and storiedย communityย footballย club.
