Victorians are really doing the right thing in working together to reduce this pandemic virus from spreading and we are all biting at the bit to get onto the field and hopefully sing our Team Song.

The club is positive that we will see local footy in the second half of the season with an announcement to be made next month.

The issue for all clubs, of course, is how we can field teams should the social distancing regulations still be in place with no social fundraising gatherings?

Unlike most sports where registrations cover the cost of the operation, for local AFL clubs, this is not the case and we all rely on sponsorship and social events to get by each season.

St Bedes / Mentone Tigers AFC has a double financial burden as this coronavirus has hit us hard just as we were to move into our new facility at the Mentone Reserve and with the Southern Road facility currently being upgraded.

April, May and June were supposed to be our proudest with a full social calendar filling fast, as was our program to obtain and highlight our sponsors each weekend through social media along with stories of each week’s match results.

We were budgeting to raise substantial funds during those months.

The club is calling out to our members and supporters to lift our financial burden.

Please assist us to urgently raise $25,000 towards the fit-out of the new facility at Mentone Reserve and/or assist us to pay our $15,000 financial contribution towards the Southern Road Reserve upgrade so we can be ready as soon as footy commences for season 2020.

The club has full tax deductibility status with the Australian Sports Foundation for individuals or businesses.
