SBMT Youth Girls Captain, Georgia Ricardo, was selected to play in the VicMetro squad this year, of which games were played in Geelong and on the Gold Coast. She Captained one of these games, which the team won.Georgia received notification this week from the AFL that after her impressive performance in the U18 National Championships, she has been selected in the 2017 NAB AFL Womens U18 All Australian squad. She is one of only fifty-two players selected into the squad which will be split into two teams and invited to play in a State of Origin game being held in Melbourne on 2nd September.
Georgia has played with SBMT in 2011 as part of the U12 Girls team. Returning in 2016 with her twin sister Zoe to play in the U18 Youth Girls team. In 2017 she was elected Captain of our SBMT U18 Youth Girls team and continues to motivate and inspire her team mates every week.
We are all super proud of Georgia and her achievements and wish her every success in her endeavours withfootball.
