The club has been successful in our grant application to the SRL Community Projects Fund of $80,000 towards upgrading the sports lights at the Mentone Reserve.
The current lights are 100 LUX old power-hungry metal halide fixtures, which burn through over $5,000 per season. Okay for basic training, but not for high-intensity training and twilight matches.
The new sports lights will be 170 LUX LED which will βLight the Nightβ and reduce our power cost by a third.
The project has a cost of $135,000, so we are seeking tax-deductible donations towards the project through the Australian Sports Foundation.
