historic pavilionThe club has been in regular meetings with Kingston City Council since September and an architect has been appointed. Ideas and designs are being worked through with a view to have them completed for members to see around March 2017. At that point, there will be fine-tuning and a final report to Council between May and July with the project going out to tender in August. We are hoping for a start date in September 2017. The club has been pushing for a sporting and community hub to be built in stages so that other user groups such as Mentone Mustangs Basketball Club and Mentone Clovers Netball Club can secure a home base of an office and merchandising area and later on have two multipurpose courts built on the Remo Street land behind the clubrooms. Mark Tyquin, Shaun Napier, Fiona Lawrence and Peter Davis are heading up this sub-committee. An acknowledgement should be made to the Premier Daniel Andrews who backed us with a $1 million dollar commitment and Tim Richardson MP for his advocacy.
