Club representatives were this evening guests at a reception at Government House to recognise the contribution of Community Sport and Recreation Volunteers.
Anna Worsnop, Paul O’Toole, Andrew Whitelaw and Mick Atherton were guests of the Honourable Linda Dessau AC, Governor of Victoria and Mr Anthony Howard AM QC. Volunteers from across the State were treated to the magnificent spaces of Government House and enjoyed the vice-regal hospitality. The Governor, a former AFL Commissioner, knew of our strong club and was delighted to hear of the size of our junior and senior programs and the recent success of our women’s teams.

The Minister for Community Sport, the Honourable Ros Spence MP, also addressed the guests. The state’s peak body for sport will engage volunteers and industry experts to develop videos and interactive
materials focusing on recruitment, retention and recognition.
