The St Bedes/Mentone Tigers AFC community is mourning the passing of Gerald Stutterd, a much-loved and enormously valued contributor to the club.
Gerald’s connection with the club stretched across more than four decades, beginning with his playing days for St Bedes Old Collegians FC between 1981 and 1986. He played 43 games for the club, including 10 senior and 33 reserves appearances.
His service continued long after his playing days. Gerald coached the Under-19s in 2007 and 2008 before taking on an official leadership role, serving as Club Chair in 2017 and 2018 and subsequently as a Board Member responsible for sponsorship in 2019.
Through his business, Carter Grange Homes, Gerald was also a major supporter of the club, proudly sponsoring the Tigers from 2020 through to 2026 with his company name now prominent on the back of the senior team’s jumpers.
Gerald’s involvement with the club extended to him holding many volunteer roles during the years his children played for the club between 2007 and 2019, and in prior years when club members built the original Corboy Pavilion where he generously donated building materials without seeking any acknowledgement.
Gerald’s contribution, commitment and generosity to the club will be remembered with enormous gratitude.
