It is with great sympathy and sadness that we inform you that Peter O’Brien lost his fight against cancer earlier this morning. For a person who never had a child at our football club, Peter was an amazing contributor and hard-working member of the club for many years. Peter was the Football Club representative on the St. Bede’s Old Collegians Committee for many years and always put our club first. He will always be fondly remembered and sadly missed. Peter’s family has been overwhelmed by the tremendous support shown by members of our club in visiting him in hospital over the past couple of weeks and passing on their best wishes to Peter and the family. We will let you know of funeral arrangements once they become available.

To our dear friends at St Bedes/Mentone Tigers, Peter left us at 2am this morning. He had been surrounded by his family all day and died peacefully holding my hand. He told us that he felt so fortunate to have so many wonderful people reach out during his final weeks. Thank you, Kate, Kristie, Chris, Ruby & Diane.

The Funeral Service for Mr Peter George O Brien will be held in the St Bede’s Chapel, Gate 13, Palermo St, Mentone on TUESDAY 11 June, 2019 commencing at 2:30pm. Parking in the Mentone RSL carpark, 9 Palermo St, Mentone. Private Cremation. No flowers by family request.
