Seniors and Reserves both score solid wins against Old Paradians at Bundoora yesterday. The U19’s at home trounced Latrobe Uni whilst the Club 18 side was competitive against a strong Old Xaverians outfit.

Game in brief. Seniors had a griding win at Garvey Oval Bundoora against last years preliminary finalists Old Parade. Tigers dominated possession early however the score at quarter time showed the tigers leading 1.6 to no score. Midfielders in James Tyquin, Brett Collins and Tim McColl were again dominating whilst the backline lead by skipper Luke Wintle was hardly troubled.
The Tigers finally started to trouble the scoreboard with four second quarter goals courtesy of Michael Wintle, Andrew Hayes and Anstey. Parades flooding tactics made it hard for the Tigers to score. Sam Anstey was again dominating across half back with a combination of stunning disposal coupled with tough hardball possessions. Anstey just got better and better as the game progressed. Parade kicked two late goals to leave the Tigers 30 points up at the main break. The third quarter saw a more open contest with both team goaling before once again the Tigers kicked away through goals to McColl and Michael Wintle. A number of Tigers were starting to star including Paul Groves whose dash off the wing created opportunities. Jon Kane who had been playing across half back was giving his opponent a football lesson whilst Tyquin was also following in Anstey’s foot steps. Debut player Luke Cieslak showed that he may be a force in the seniors with some strong marks and a resultant goal. The final quarter was much of the same with parade putting some respectability into their score. The Tigers had grinded out a hard fought away win which leaves them top of the table after two rounds. Next week at home to Ajax.
