Despite all the pre game hype the seniors hit top form to demolish Old Camberwell by 99 points. In a upset the Reserves lost their first game of the season by two points whilst the U19’s moved to the top of the table with a spectacular two point win over Oakleigh. Clubbies went down after a good battle with Xavs. St Bedes Mentone Tigers senior side broke the club record with their 15th consecutive win to remain undefeated.
Camberwells big ground suited the Tiger outfit who with their brilliant use of the ball and running to space final kicked straight with 24.16 on the score board at the final bell
It was close to the Tigers best performance for the season and spells danger for the competition as they have a number of players set to return to the side in the coming weeks.
Old Camberwell were close to full strength and touted prior to the game that an upset was on the cards.
Star of the show for the Tigers was Paul Wintle at Centre Half Forward. Wintle dominated in the air to finish with eight goals. Ruckrover Andrew Hayes also notched four goals to be damaging up forward.
The backline lead by Luke Wintle at CHB and Nick Cord completely dominated their opponents.
Big man Steve Zakic and Luke McMurray dominated around the ground to give the tiger onballers led by Sam Anstey , Tim McColl and Michael Wintle first use of the ball.
The Tigers blasted seven goals in the second and nine in the thid to completely outclass the Wellers.
The Tigers Reserves, U19 and U17 sides also remain on top of their respective tables.
