This week saw a depleted SBMT-StPeters side travel to Albert Park to take on Collegians, It was to be third against fourth with SBMT sitting inside the four on percentage. With only 17 players available it was going to be a tough day, but the SBMT girls lifted all around the ground. Collegians opened the scoring with an early goal, but strong work out of the middle by Kate Dempsey saw SBMT post a quick reply into the wind. At times the team was down to 15 on the ground whilst injured players were being assessed, but pressure tackling and hard running out of the back line by Sarah Butler and Monique Blair kept putting the game up to Collegians.  Selfless unrewarded running by Eliza Cooper and Gen Barns Dunne stopping any momentum by Collegians meant there was only 2 points in the game going into the major break. Down to 15 players going into the third quarter meant that it was only going to get tougher and by three quarter time SBMT had laid 68 tackles. A further 22 tackles in the last saw Collegians take the points, but with 13 players on the ground through the last quarter the SBMT girls knew they had put up a great fight, and were acknowledged by the Collegians coach as probably being unlucky not to have won. There were a few bruised and tired young ladies at the Cocktail Night but they could hold their heads up knowing they had put in a great team performance. Game total of 80 tackles was measure of their fierce approach on the ball and opposition.

COLLEGIANS 4:6-30 to SBMT-STPETERS 2:2-14
