SBMT are proud to announce the coaching team (Women’s program) for 2023! After a premiership winning year, Belinda Ousley will be returning as senior coach. Belinda returns in 2023 and can’t wait to start pre-season in the coming weeks. The 2022 season was our most successful year for the Women’s program finishing minor premiers and premiers after being undefeated in season 2022. What wonderful season for coaches , players, and supporters. Lachy Worthy will also return in 2023 after another impressive season as assistant coach. Lachy is a football strategist who is always driving to improve team standards, while keeping it fun with his music trivia. Our reserves coaches also come with impressive credentials: Georgia Wilson was 2022 reserve coach assistant and had an impressive season coaching the reserve team to a premiership. Georgia will be taking over the reins from Joey as the reserves coach. Georgia has played 10 seasons at SBMT, along with a stint at VFLW level before injuries cut her playing career short. Georgia creates innovative drills and structures, with an ability to read the game well beyond her years.
Our newest coaching addition is Liv Gleeson as reserves assistant coach. Liv comes with a wealth of football experience, playing her junior career at St Peters Football club. Liv’s coaching experience includes Auskick experience along with 2 years coaching at St Peters football club and played several seasons at Glen Eira football club. Liv joined SBMT in 2020 as a player. Liv has amazing football knowledge, while also driving a strong team culture, Liv connects with people and is committed to guiding the team to further success on and off the field.
All four coaches are unique in their coaching styles which means SBMT can cater for all player learning and playing styles. All four coaches are currently undertaking the comprehensive Level 2 AFL Coaching Accreditation.
SBMT are fortunate to have such a talented coaching team in readiness for Premier B in 2023.
