Reaching The Unreached
One of our Senior players, Pat Tyquin, returned from India recently, where he and group of friends had been working with the charity Reaching The Unreached (RTU) to help build four houses for disadvantaged families. Great to see some of our old merchandise stock being put to good use. It's worth taking a moment to reflect on how truly blessed we are in this country.

Senior Footy Round 1 2023
We're back! The 2023 season got under way on Saturday with Round 1 of the VAFA seeing our Senior Men, Reserves and three U19 teams in action. VALE Norm Oldman
It is with great sadness that we advise of the passing of past player Norm Oldham. Norm played with the Mentone Football Club in the Federal League in the 1950’s. He was a 2006 SBMT Hall of Fame inductee and a member of the famous 1956 Tiger premiership team against arch rivals and red hot favourites Mordialloc at the Cheltenham Oval. Light the Night
The club has been successful in our grant application to the SRL Community Projects Fund of $80,000 towards upgrading the sports lights at the Mentone Reserve. The current lights are 100 LUX old power-hungry metal halide fixtures, which burn through over $5,000 per season. Okay for basic training, but not for high-intensity training and twilight matches.
